BISI’s entire back catalogue is available as freely downloadable open access PDFs. BISI’s books focus principally on the excavations carried out by our predecessor organisation, the British School of Archaeology in Iraq – notably at the sites of Nimrud, Samarra and Abu Salabikh. We also publish occasional volumes on Iraq’s history and languages, as well as an annual report and newsletter.

BISI’s journal IRAQ is an academic periodical, founded in 1934, covering the history, art, archaeology, religion, economic and social life of Iraq, from the earliest times to about AD 1750. It is currently published by Cambridge University Press and is available upon subscription.
